Welcome

The 2012 Yngling World Championships heads back 'downunder' to one of the most beautiful cities in the world and one of the best sailing venues on the planet, Sydney, Australia. From the 2-8 January Sydney will witness the battle for the Yngling World title. More than 50 entries from over 10 nations are expected to make the journey to Sydney for what undoubtably will be one of the best world championships in years. The host yacht club, the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron and the Australian International Yngling Association welcomes all competitors and supporters to come and join in this event. Welcome to Sydney.

On behalf of the members of Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron I am pleased to welcome the skippers and crew of yachts competing in the 2012 Yngling World Championships, as part of our Sesquicentenary year. The Squadron has hosted the Yngling NSW & Australian Championship in recent years and the class is no stranger to us as we host racing for them each Saturday through summer. Having hosted the 2011 Rolex Farr 40 Worlds and with the Etchells Worlds set for February 2012, the Squadron is well prepared to host the Yngling Worlds this January. Sydney Harbour is one of the most beautiful harbours in the world and the waters offer first class racing conditions. I am confident you will have a week of great sailing and I wish all competitors the best of luck.

Best wishes,

Malcolm Levy
Commodore
Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron
